Just had an impromptu breakfast with my Nanay this Sunday morning. After getting up from a hearty sleep, I felt an urge for my favorite lugaw, tokwa, and penoy. With the neighborhood lugawan just several steps away from my home in rural Bulacan, I decided to satisfy my urge.
As I prepared myself for this hearty hoi polloi meal, I learned that my Nanay has not eaten breakfast yet and offered to treat her [a lugaw for breakfast is sure cheap; hehe]. We walked from the house to the lugawan. She ate only a small bowl of lugaw and lumpia. I however ate a king’s meal: 2 bowlfuls of lugaw, 2 servings of tokwa, and a penoy egg. It was just a quick breakfast and a little chat on how to run our new business. It was a fun bonding time.
By the way, all we ate was just 50 bucks. Quality bonding time can be pretty much affordable eh?
